- I believe every student can learn and will create and implement a program that is differentiated, flexible and conducive to inquiry supporting the learning of all.
- I believe that in order to create a sense of belonging in my students I must foster a positive relationship with the students (Sullo 2007).
- I believe the student comes before the curriculum by viewing students as autonomous learners and by allowing choice.
- I strive to create a safe and caring environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and experimenting with communication.
- I believe it is the responsibility of all teachers to support all students in becoming strategic readers and successful communicators (Ellery & Rosenboom 2011).
- I strive to create opportunities for my students to grow into thoughtful, ethical human beings.
- I encourage open-mindedness and curiosity centered on tolerance and diplomacy.
- I strive to create critical thinkers who question what they read, see or hear.
- I strive to create opportunities for my students to be creative.
- I encourage positive behaviour with the intent of creating ethical students that care about the people in their community and sensitive to the global community.
